What is a sprint retrospective meeting

The purpose of the sprint retrospective is to have a lessons learned session.  The team should review the stories in the sprint and discuss what has been completed and what has not been completed in the sprint.  They should also discuss what will be demoed and what will be released.

To continually improve, the sprint team meet and answer these three questions:

  • What things should we stop doing?
  • What should we start doing?
  • What things are working well for us, so we continue to do them

The meeting should be timeboxed to 60 minutes and is a free form discussion.  The input from the session is used for planning the next sprint.
