At the beginning of each Sprint, the Product Owner conducts a Sprint Planning Meeting with the team. The purpose is to review the product backlog items and identify the priority for the items that should be included in the upcoming sprint. The team decides how many of the top user stories on the list can actually be built in the Sprint. The team prioritizes the backlog and communicates the Sprint release goals with the Stakeholders.
The Backlog Refinement Grooming Sessions should review and prioritize the product backlog by adding new user stories and removing obsolete stories. The team performs re-sizing by estimating the user stories using the new stories and size. The Grooming sessions occur at least once per Sprint and are used throughout the project.
